Be Reasonable: Episode #017 – Richard Freeman

This month, we chat to Richard Freeman.  Richard is the zoological director of the Centre for Fortean Zoology. He talks to Hayley and Marsh about cryptozoology and why he thinks there’s much more to monsters than just Nessie and Bigfoot…

I’m guessing there are no comments here yet because your guest had nothing to say that we haven’t heard before. = Trying to make anecdote the plural of data. (double-forhead-slap)

Triple forehead slap but the last one is for my stupidity. I meant… that the plural of anecdote is not data. That’s what you get for typing faster than you stop to think.

Though, Evil Eye, your first statement is true if you downloaded the latest episode of Monster Talk with Richard Freeman. I am listening to it now, and it is very similar to this Be Reasonable episode.

Is it a coincidence? Well, maybe.

Richard Freeman does come across as quite reasonable, but like Lembit Opik (Ep #14) he seems to jump a step in his logical train of thought, and has beliefs that don’t appear supported by evidence.

It’s frustrating to hear a logical construct along the lines of:

a leads to b leads to c leads to d leads to f

Whoa there, where’s e? That’s kinda the crucial step.

Anyway, really interesting episode, and apologies for my ramblings here, I hope they make sense!

Just listening to Richard on Monster Talk, it’s a bit of a deja-vu session on my iPod today 😉
