Skeptics with a K: Episode #316

Mike, Marsh and Alice are joined once again by Emma to talk about the recent decision to recall Colin Pitchfork to prison, and Marsh talks about the recent terrorist attack at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Due to the nature of Colin Pitchfork’s offences, this episode makes occasional references to murder and rape which some listeners may wish to avoid.

So where’s the beard pic? As one autistic person to another, I am looking forwards to seeing one please 🙂

    Hey team,

Long time listener but felt the need to post a slight grumble regarding this episode. In the section discussing the recent terrorist attack in Liverpool there was a odd transition from:
Terrorist attack overview, terrorist attacking misinformation to Catholic/Christian church diversifying members – implying the church is responsible for turning refugees into terrorist – or at a minimum making them feel ‘confused’ and then turn violent?

I would ague the opposite is more likely true. By showing compassion and inclusion from a group to which one might not be a part of originally (or their primary community) is more beneficial than encouraging isolation for both individuals. There is the possibility this has thwarted would be terrorist (I know that’s impossible to prove a like Homer Simpson’s rock that keeps away bears).

Again, it was a strange statement to end the segment on before the musical interlude. The terrorist who clearly was targeting a women’s hospital MORE LIKELY because of deeply rooted beliefs and mental illness, not because a church group invited him for free soup and shit Latin songs.

Just my feedback – sorry for the slight rant, massive love from 11,000 miles away New Zealand 😉
