Well done, Rich! We hope winning this competition has made your Christmas ever so slightly more Christmassy. It probably hasn’t, but then Santa doesn’t exist so someone’s got to put the effort in, haven’t they? Next year, we’re going to deliver copies of The God Delusion down the chimneys of unsuspecting houses. Or something by Jane Austen just to fuck with people’s heads. Either way, we’re going to own Christmas next year!

So, slightly later than intended, here is the latest Caption Competition, with added furriness. What should be the caption for the picture below?

I can’t wait to go myself, it looks really brilliant – something of a stirring, wonder-filled way of saying ‘this is the only planet we have, and we’d damn sure better look after it’.

The whole thing is being organised by a brilliant chap who goes along to the Greater Manchester Skeptics, who explained the show to me:

As some or all of you may be aware, we recently streamed our latest episode of Skeptics With a K live, in conjunction with real-time interaction via twitter with our faithful fans. We not only streamed the audio but the visual, too, so you were able to see, thanks to the wonders of the internet, the complex technological juggernaut that is the recording of our popular podcast. It may have seemed like three blokes in a back bedroom talking cobblers, but that’s just because you all need glasses.

To celebrate that special episode of Skeptics With a K, we have two screengrabs of the recording itself, courtesy of Hayley Stevens of the British Anomalistic Research Society. Hayley is our Skeptics in The Pub speaker for tomorrow night at Liverpool Skeptics in The Pub, details of which can be found here. It will no doubt be a highly entertaining talk, which all of you should attend, especially if you entertain doubts about the way in which some paranormal investigators ‘investigate’…

I haven’t seen them in the same room. But then I’ve never seen any of them in any room beyond in a picture or on TV, so for all I know they’re the fictional creations of clever skeptics.
